April 2023

To Our Prayer Force,

You never know why all we need your prayers. For example, on Easter, Nancy’s 95-year-old dad went to be with the Lord. Nancy spoke at her dad’s funeral & clearly shared the Gospel. After Nancy told KEERA (one of Nancy’s former students) about her dad, Keera emailed from Korea & asked: “Did your dad go to heaven?” Nancy replied, “Yes, because my dad believed in Jesus.” Every week, via Zoom, Nancy teaches Bible stories to Keera’s son, JUN, who then tells his family about the Bible story; we’re praying for their salvation.

Â

Today, Nancy will teach “English as a Second Language” at “Doorways” where she’s reaching out to students from Afghanistan, Ukraine, China, Taiwan, Belarus, Jordan, Colombia, Brazil & Japan. Nancy will get together with some of these students over the summer, & she has also been inviting some of these students to our Friday night Bible studies & English classes that will continue throughout the summer. Tomorrow, Nancy will teach English to 2 new students: ASHLY & FANGFANG (both from China); we assume that they’re not Christians.

God continues to open doors for me at the CU Rec Center. Several weeks ago, I talked to ZACH who told me that he was raised Catholic & is interested in spiritual conversation. 2 days ago, God providentially worked it out for me to explain & give our [Jesus is the] “Bridge” tract, & Zach was receptive!

Â

Today & tomorrow I’m scheduled to sit at our literature table. Recently: 1) DANA (from Louisville) told me that she knew very little about Jesus & asked me to give her a chronology of Jesus’ life! After doing that, I explained our [Jesus is the] “Bridge” tract, & she took it with her. 2) Later, NiKOO cautiously stopped by. She’s from Iran, born a Muslim, but not practicing Islam. I explained our [Jesus is the] “Bridge” tract…. 3) The next day, KHAN (a Muslim from Pakistan) talked to me for a long time (again).

Â

This Sunday, I’m scheduled to preach [“Trek thru the OT”] at our church. And we’ve invited the people in the attached pic (taken in our home) (from left to right): JACKiE (from Colombia), FABiANA (from Chile) & her husband JAIR (from Mexico), ANDRES (Jackie’s husband), JOSH (who is from Iowa; I met him while wearing an Iowa Hawkeyes shirt at the CU Rec Center) & SAM who is a friend of ours. We’ve also invited YiNG (from China); she’s a new Christian, & she has visited our church a few times. We’ve also invited [unsaved]: KiM (from Korea), ZHUBiN (from China), CAM (from the U.S.) & ANHAR (a Muslim from Jordan). After we invited the aforementioned students to our church, Anhar replied, “I will try to come on Sunday to listen to you.”
