NEW SEMESTER!
March 12, 2021

We are grateful for the way God has guided this year with our Bible institute (Fundación de Estudios Bíblicos Alfa y Omega). We started the semester last month with 21 students in a local technical school. The classroom is ideal, and our students have been encouraged by the ambiance and the camaraderie they are experiencing.

This program is geared towards discipleship and developing local church leadership. Nine students from our church are participating and several from Jacobis’s church. The rest come from other local churches or study groups. One of my students, Leonardo Oviedo, is located in Sincelejo, a city about 8 hours away. He is planning to offer the same program in his church but wanted to study with us first.

We are excited about the possibility of an indigenous student (Tomas) studying with us soon. He has a burden for reaching the unreached of his community, the koguis. One of my former students (Ever) just took a survey trip to Tomas’s village to see about the possibility of working there.

CHURCH EVENTS

In January, we enjoyed celebrating our church’s 10th anniversary with the baptism of  seven individuals and our first church outing in over a year. It was a joy to hear the salvation testimony of each one. God is powerful to save!

We rejoice with those who were baptized.

CULTURE

Colombia produces some amazing coffee. I usually study at a coffee shop called Café Aluna, and they produce their own coffee in the Sierra Nevada. If you are interested in great Colombian coffee, my recommendations would be from Antioquia, the Sierra Nevada and Huila. Juan Valdez sells all of these.

Kids’ Corner

Eliana will be graduating this semester from high school. She still has two options for going to Bible college, so please pray that God would guide her.

Last month we were blessed to participate in the marriage of Sebastian and Kathleen. Many of you have prayed for them. Over the last four years we’ve seen Kathleen grow, and Sebestian has been here in Santa Marta for almost a year. Please pray that God would guide them. We would love for God to keep them here to be a part of the new church plant, but of course God is the one who has the final word in their lives.

Congratulations to Sebastian and Kathleen!
¡Gracias por orar por nosotros! (Thanks for praying for us!)
Yours for Colombia,
Jonathan, Holly, Eliana, Marcos and Jason Boyd
