Dear Friends,
Here is an update on each of our partners in Yangon, Myanmar.
Joseph:
The children are spending their time at the farmhouse. They are caring for the plants and harvesting fruit. We will soon be adding two fish-ponds and livestock. I believe they have a much greater sense of safety than before they had at the safe house.

The people of Tedim crying out in prayer to God.
Joseph writes me about his hometown, Tedim. Covid is uncontrolled there. In the month of June, 65 pastors from Tedim passed away from Covid. Joseph also lost three family members in three days. Two of his family members are in bed with Covid. Joseph writes, “The people of my hometown are in a helpless and hopeless situation because of Covid. They need medical supplies desperately.” Tedim is also the hometown of many of our children in care.
Here is a listing of the supplies they need in case you would like to help. Just write in the comments section what you would like your gift to be used for.

*Only one Oxygen Concentrator needed now, read about it below.
Over the weekend Joseph and I were texting through the night, Sunday (his day). He had become very ill with Covid symptoms. He was having great difficulty breathing, and his oxygen had dropped to 90%. I told him to order one of the oxygen concentrators for his immediate use. The pharmacist delivered it. It helped his oxygen level to increase to 95%. We agreed that he needed to quarantine and rest.
If you have been following Joseph’s ministry, you will know he is a highly motivated person when it comes to caring for the children, the farm, basically anything. He kept texting me that he has much to accomplish for the Lord, should He grant him more time. After knowing about all the personal friends, family members, and pastors who had passed away from Covid, life seems that much more precious and frail. I can remember my dad as he was getting ready to meet the Lord saying, “Teach your children about the frailty of life.” This is a lesson Joseph has been learning these past few days.
He had a rapid Covid test yesterday. Surprisingly, he tested negative for Covid. Out of an abundance of caution, he is still quarantining so that no one else in the family gets sick. I received a text from him while I was compiling this report. “I am getting better.”
“T” is experiencing much of the same heartache as Joseph. He has such a beautiful and compelling way with words that I will copy them directly for you.
“The two enemies: the unseen enemy (THE COVID-19) killed 41 Chin Pastors and 272 Chin Christians within the month of June in the Kale area and Chin State. On the other hand, the seen enemy’s Gun and Bombs killed 27 Chin people in June. Many Chin Christians fled to the forest for safety under the rain. Babes, children, and elderly people died in the forest. What a shame! Due to those two enemies, many Chin Christians are facing unspeakable distress and difficulties. Every day, we cry to God. It is really a very dark situation!”
He closes his email by writing, “I am begging you to intercede. God is still on His throne.”
We were able to send $5,000 to help “T” purchase life-saving supplies such as hand sanitizer, masks, and food for the village people and for those hiding in the forest. I will send pictures as soon as I receive them.
Grace: – Grace is still struggling with vertigo that is caused by her underlying diagnosis of spondylosis. The fighting and Covid are the same as with Joseph and “T.” She does have additional challenges. Some of the children are getting sick. In fact, this is what she writes about John. “Tuesday night (yesterday) about 3 am John was suffering breathing very badly, almost stopped from breathing. He was unconscious for a few minutes. Jose and Henry took him to the Win Clinic. By the grace of God, now he is better.”
I do not know what John’s diagnosis is. Grace did tell me that John used to take his parents’ medication, so that may be part of the problem. I am praying it is not Covid. I also do not know the diagnoses of the other children. I do appreciate how Grace and her team seek medical care for the children. So, I am confident they will do what is necessary for the children. We will need to help them with the cost of the children’s medical care.

The people of Grace Home praying for BCH.
Thank you for reading this long update. Jim Geurink (BCH President Emeritus) always used to refer to our lives as an “Adventure in Faith.” I think that term describes our Myanmar partners and children’s lives perfectly. They are remaining faithful during such adverse conditions.
I am thankful to be on the “Adventure of Faith” with them and with your partnership.
Sincerely,
Linda Brooks
President
