October 2022
To Our Prayer Force,
Â
Thank you so much for praying! In our previous Prayer Letter, we asked you to pray for an atheist, ZOE, who talked to us at our literature table. Last week, a Christian told us that Zoe had talked to her about having talked to us. Please pray that God will save Zoe!
Â
Also, in our previous Letter, we asked you to pray for the salvation of JOSH. He continues to attend our Friday night Bible studies. Last Friday, Josh told me that he keeps all my handouts. ANDRES (from Columbia) is another unbeliever who comes every Friday. Last Friday night, Andres thanked us & said, “Friday night is my social night – and – I get to think about Jesus!†Additional non-Christians who attend our Friday night Bible studies include: CAROLE & her roommate, MiJA, PHiLLiP, YAN, ARiA & her boyfriend, EPHON; they’re all from China.

3 years ago, Nancy taught the Bible to Keera & her 2 kids, JUN & KATE. Jun & Kate made professions of faith, but, as far as we know, Kim & Keera never have. This week, Keera wished Nancy, “Happy Birthday,†& emailed, “We are always missing you. I think Jesus sent you for people like us.†Before Keera moved back to Korea, she introduced us to SOORIN. Nancy then started a Bible story time with Soorin & her 2 kids. Later, Soorin introduced us to SOYOUNG, & Nancy started a Bible story time with Soyoung & her 2 boys. Later, through Soyoung, Nancy met MIJI & her 2 kids with whom Nancy recently started a Bible story time. When Nancy asked Miji what her family knows about Jesus, the Bible, etc., Miji said that they don’t know anything.
Â
Please also pray for Nancy’s new ESL students: ANHAR (from Jordan), VALENTINA (from Ukraine) & TUBA & BACO (from Afghanistan). Next week, Nancy will help INOKA (from Sri Lanka) learn public transportation. Please pray for us as we build friendships with these students & as we plan to have these students, along with their families, into our home for meals. God gives us many witnessing opportunities around our dining room table!
Â
In 2 days, I’m planning to fly to Kitwe, Zambia. I’ve been asked to teach (for 2 weeks) students at Central Africa Baptist University – how to share the Gospel with students who attend Copperbelt University which is providentially located next door to the Christian U. According to my friend who is a missionary there, “The campus is wide open to both evangelism & discipleship, but the younger generation is beginning to turn toward secularism & moral relativism.â€
