Haiti and The Dominican Republic
On Saturday I was texting with Predestin, our Ministry Director in Haiti. We were talking about the unrest in Haiti due to gang activity. Please pray for the children in our care and for those not in our care currently. I think the best way I can share prayer needs and requests is to let you hear directly from Predestin.
“Please pray for the situation in Haiti and in the Dominican Republic. It is very bad. Crime continues in Haiti. The children continue to suffer in both countries. Many children are now orphaned.” I asked him how the orphaned children survive. He responded, “Only God knows because I cannot even give an answer.”
He added: “In Haiti, in some areas, the people leave their houses to live on public places to save their lives from the gangs. The gangs kidnap people for money. There is another big problem in Haiti now, the problem of the cholera.” He continued, “We are helping children. We are helping five children in every home (8 homes). When we have the possibility, we can continue to open more homes. That will help more children have a better life. When you look at the pictures of the children before they came into our care and now, you can see they look totally different. The homes make a big difference in the lives of the children.” Predestin
I’m sure your heart goes out in thankfulness for the 40 children for whom we care currently. Please pray for wisdom as we seek to grow our ministry to children in Haiti.
