Nine Graduates from the Colombia Baptist Seminary

Greetings from Ames, Iowa!

I arrived safely in Iowa this last Sunday after enjoying two weeks of teaching a course at the Colombia Baptist Seminary in Tenjo. It was a privilege to witness the graduation of nine students, six from the Tenjo program and three from the distance program. Pray for God’s direction in their lives as they seek to serve Him!

In this short update I also wanted to share two prayer needs.

1) Pastor Alfredo and the Impacto Bíblico church are close to making a deal on the new building.

We rejoice to see how God is providing; several churches and individuals have pledged $17,500 towards this project in the last month. The church already has the money to make a 40% initial payment, and these donations will help them negotiate a more favorable deal with the owner.

I asked Alfredo, “How is the church going to be able to make the monthly payments after the downpayment?”

He replied, “God has been in this the whole time. The owner said he has never made a deal like this one, but he believes it will be his first good deal because he senses that it’s different. He has been willing to drop his price and be flexible in the terms. It’s a test of faith, but I’ve seen God do great things before and I believe he’ll do it again.”

If God lays it on your heart, please consider giving toward this ABWE project: Impacto Biblico Baptist Church Colombia | give.abwe.org

2) Please pray for the accreditation process at the Colombia Baptist Seminary. God’s hand has been evident in the accreditation process; one government entity wants to grant accreditation, but there is a conflict with another level of government because of a clause in the official documents of the seminary. Pray for the board members who are working on resolving this issue, since we were given one month to fix the problem.

We hope that you will have a blessed Christmas season as you reflect on God’s greatest gift, his beloved Son.

In Christ,

Jonathan, Holly, Eliana, Marcos and Jason Boyd

P. S. ABWE is phasing out our old email (theboyds@abwe.cc), so you can use my new email instead (jonathan.boyd@abwego.org). Thanks!
