Stephen and Evelyn Stilwell’s Prayer Letter

June 29, 2023

We are still alive and serving.  Praise the Lord we have many blessings to share with you!

Today Stephen turned 80 years old.  He spent the day welding a reel for the zipline cable for camp. We also will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of our Trujillo camp from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.  It is hard to believe that the camp is that old.  Only God knows all the hearts that have been changed and lives that have been challenged to serve him fulltime.  We have some in our Bible college this year that made life changing decisions at camp.  The roof of the large chapel at camp is finished.  Praise the Lord for safety as it was all done my hand and was hard work.  We are getting ready for the floor to be poured.

Maranatha Baptist Church is at the door to purchasing property.  The legal work to own property is finished.  They are in the process of checking past property taxes, etc.  Pray for wisdom.  It is so different in this country to buy property.  Prices continue to go up, as you also know.  Please pray the Lord will provide the finances to do the construction.  This is probably the last large project we will be involved in.  Stephen is teaching a series of lessons on John at Maranatha each Tuesday evening, and I continue the class with the ladies on Saturday evening.  We praise the Lord for a new family at Maranatha.  Pray for them as they grow in the Lord.  His work makes him work on Sunday, but he is saving money so he can have his own business and attend all the services.  His name is José.  They have a daughter that is nine or ten and a little boy that is 9 months.

This coming Sunday, July 2, we plan to attend the anniversary of Dadiva Baptist Church, where our daughter, Martha, serves and that we helped start a few years ago.

Next week finishes another semester at the Peru Baptist Seminary.  The second semester starts in August.  Stephen will be teaching the book of Revelation to the fourth year.

Thank you once again, for all your prayers, even when we are behind in letting you know what God is doing here in Peru. Praise the Lord with us for His blessings!

God bless you each of you as we continue to serve the Lord together here in Trujillo.
