Showers of blessing!
Showers of blessing we need!
Mercy drops ‘round us are falling, but for the showers we plead.
After quite a dry spell (read “Covid-19 for two yearsâ€), we began to see God’s mercy drops when He provided us a new meeting place in November. From December until now, there have been only a handful of Sundays when we did not see new visitors walk through our door. New folks began attending regularly and growing in their walk with the Lord.
Mercy drops are exciting, but it is thrilling to watch them turn into showers as God pours out His blessing upon our service for Him! One rain shower was brief, but encouraging, when a team from Pensacola, Florida, helped us out for a day. They ran a Bible club in the park and helped clean up the backyard of our church area.
Another shower of blessing arrived to us from Knoxville, Tennessee, in the form of a summer intern. Olivia was a tremendous blessing both to our family and also our ministry! She helped us prepare a ladies’ dinner on the theme “All the Time, God is Good.†We had a few new faces at the dinner, and the testimony and singing time was such a blessing! Olivia also helped with Sunday school, painting the church, and playing special music.
Later in the month, another rain shower of blessing came all the way from Huntsville, Alabama, when a group from our supporting church arrived to lead a week of outreach into our neighborhood. In addition to a Bible Club in the park, we had a children’s pizza party at our new facility. We had over 20 children and most of their parents for a night of fun and a clear Gospel presentation. The next day, we had a teen dodgeball tournament. By God’s blessing, there were 35 teenagers (not affiliated with our church) who enjoyed the tournament and heard the message of salvation.
We shared our showers of blessing with the community by handing out free water bottles that had our church label on them, along with a gospel tract about the Living Water. One man received a water bottle and immediately pulled over to research our church online! He has been attending and slowly bringing many members of his extended family along too!
We just started a new members class to prepare new attendees for church membership. Many are staying on Sunday afternoon to attend this class, and others are asking to transfer membership to our church and to be baptized.
Last Sunday, God blessed us with 54 in attendance. That number doesn’t include any out-of-town visitors, and several of our regular attending folk were absent. We praise God for his outpouring of blessing on our church!
