A Caravan of Hope

All of us at Bringing Children Hope share our prayers and heartfelt concern for all those effected by the devastating hurricanes. We recently had the opportunity to donate to a relief caravan traveling from Valparaiso, IN to Asheville, NC, organized by a local businessman, to deliver much-needed supplies to effected communities.

With specific requests for items like diapers, pull-ups, toilet paper, toothpaste, and other personal care products, BCH responded by donating these supplies hoping to ease the burden on families facing hardship.

“We wanted to do our part to help families struggling in the aftermath of this disaster,” said Tracy Bucher, our US Ministry Director. “Our prayers are with everyone impacted by the hurricanes this season.”

GEM Home Update

The GEM farm in Myanmar has been protected from the recent floods during the rainy season. The farm is doing well and the children enjoyed playing in the mud. They are thankful for the vegetation the farm is producing!

Grace Home Update

God protected the Grace Home in Myanmar from a recent military census. Praise God they were able to answer all the questions about the home and God protected them!

Our beloved Grace has been experiencing dizziness and illness for quite some time. However, Grace is experiencing more dizziness than usual. Her birthday is coming up later in October and she wants to share a meal of pork curry, hamburgers, and Pepsi with all the children. Please pray for comfort and relief for her.

Bringing Children Hope in NW Indiana
We recently attended a fall festival where we handed out over 450 bags of candy and resources to local children. Please pray that God’s love is able to be shared with these children and word about our Homes of Compassion program is spread to anyone who may need it.

Family-Based Care with a Community Focused Approach in Gbonota, Liberia

Over the past few months, BCH Liberia has been working diligently to support family-based care in the village of Gbonota. Our mission is to strengthen families and empower the community to eliminate the “pull” factors that lead families to place children in orphanages. By addressing the root causes and building community resilience, we aim to create a sustainable future where children grow up in loving family environments.

Our work in Gbonota is unfolding in three key phases:

Phase 1: Immediate Care

Our first priority was to address the village’s urgent needs, including food, supplies, and medical care. This initial support helped stabilize families, providing relief in times of uncertainty and ensuring that basic needs were met.

Phase 2: Access to Clean Water

Access to clean water is vital for a healthy community. We supplied the materials, while the residents took charge and built a water pump that now provides clean drinking water for the entire village. This collaborative effort not only delivered a crucial resource but also empowered the community by involving them in the solution.

Phase 3: Addressing ‘Pull’ Factors

We are now focusing on the factors that often entice families to consider orphanage care for their children, such as lack of education, limited medical access, and scarce vocational training and employment opportunities. By working with community partners to provide sustainable solutions in these areas, we hope to strengthen family stability and prevent the separation of children from their families.

Looking ahead, BCH Representative Darius will visit the village next month, accompanied by two Liberian social workers. Together, they will conduct a comprehensive community assessment to identify the village’s strengths and further needs. This evaluation will help us support Gbonota in a way that builds on the community’s existing resources, while addressing areas where additional help is needed.

We are grateful to these local Liberian experts for volunteering their time and expertise to serve Gbonota. Their involvement will play a crucial role in shaping our approach as we continue working towards a future where every child can thrive in a safe and supportive family environment.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we work to empower families and build a stronger, more resilient community.

The fiscal year ended on August 31. We are thankful that God has provided for the ministry yet again! We are also excited for the year ahead and all that He has in store.

Thank you for praying for us as we help children overseas and right here in the USA.
