Dear Praying Friends,
We are so thankful for each of you. As we gathered last week with our coworkers Russ and Bianca McCrocklin for a thanksgiving dinner, Leslie and I were very thankful for our churches and individuals whom have supported us for many years. We thank God for you and for your commitment to the work and ministry that God is doing through us here in Neumarkt, Germany.
During the Christmas time it is very easy to be drawn in by the fun, lights, Christmas markets and family traditions. These are not wrong, but quickly draw us away from focusing on the real reason for Christmas. As a church we have several outreaches coming up to remind us (and others) of the birth of our savior:
Adventskaffee. This coming Sunday is second Advent (a countdown to Christmas) and we plan to have an evangelistic outreach in the afternoon with cookies, coffee, Christmas décor and the gospel. What a great combination! Our church folks have been inviting people. Please pray for many to come and for the gospel to be heard.
Beginners Bible Study. On Wednesday December 11th, I plan to have a 4 week beginners Bible Study from the Gospel of John. Each guest at the Adventskaffee will get an invite to study the Bible further and develop their understanding of the gospel message. Please pray for the guests to respond and for them to come.
Kids play. On fourth Advent (Sunday 12/22) we are planning a kids play. Our kids and teens are busy learning lines, building sets and learning new songs. Parents invite their grandparents and neighbors to come watch their kids preform the Christmas story. We always have many guests in attendance. Please pray for all the details in preparation and also for those who have been invited to come.
Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve we have a candle light service. It has become a tradition for some unsaved friends to come and participate in our Christmas Eve service. It was exciting to hear these friends and families are already planning on being there. Please pray for more to come.
Wintercamp. On December 26-28 about 50 teens will be gather for winter retreat camp. It is always thrilling to participate in teen ministry as these teens desire to walk with God in a godless society and schooling. These camps are an encouragement to the teens. Please pray for their hearts to be encouraged and it to be a blessing to the counselors also.
We are excited about the opportunities that God continues to bring our way. We also plan to carol our neighbors again this year. We look forward to Natalie being home from Faith for a few weeks before starting back up for her spring semester.
We are thankful for your partnership. We could not be here without your prayers and support. Thanks!
For His Glory,
Mark and Leslie Boyd |
