Camp: Good news from the Lord never ceases! The Lord has provided the full $20,000.00 for the matching fund which means we will have $40,000 to be able to construct more dorm space for next camping season, so we will not have to turn away campers like we did this past season.
The Peru Baptist Seminary started a new year of studies on March 11. The theme for this year is “Personal Holiness”. Please pray that we will all (professors, students, and workers) grow in our spiritual lives. We have 35 full time students and some wives that are taking classes, plus others are taking the evening courses. We Praise the Lord for each student. Stephen is teaching one course this semester on Planting Churches.
Misael Mercedes, a university student from Maranatha Baptist Church came home from camp with a changed heart and is ready to get baptized, finish his last course at the university, do his practice and start his preparation for entrance into the seminary. We are so happy he has made that decision that he had felt the Lord calling him to do when he was younger. He will start his pre seminary studies this year and is looking forward to entering the seminary next year.
In the middle of March, we transitioned from serving in Victory Baptist Church to Marantha Baptist Church, a daughter work that we started a few years ago. I will be preaching twice a week there. The pastor is transitioning into another ministry, plus the church has purchased property and wants my help in overseeing the construction of the building. I drew up the plans that have been approved. March 25, construction was started. We are so happy. We hope to at least get the first two floors up so we can have a parsonage ready for the end of this year and allow the owners of our meeting place to build their own home. Noemi does not have a completed home, of her own, just the meeting room they have loaned to the church and some bedrooms. She wants Stephen to design her house. Evelyn is beginning a ladies’ meeting at Maranatha Baptist Church this Sunday. She also meets regularly with a new lady believer from Victory Baptist Church.
