BIG TRANSITIONS

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)

We take refuge in what God says in Proverbs 3:5-6. In our missionary career we’ve made several big transitions, but our goal has always been to follow God’s leading and not lean on our own understanding.

I’m currently in Tenjo teaching, and the semester is coming to a close. It’s been a joy to teach four groups of students this semester, two online and two in Tenjo. One highlight has been having our first Kogui student at the seminary (Carlitos); his goal is to return to the Sierra Nevada mountain to reach his people with the gospel.

I found a house to rent here in Tenjo, so we plan on moving in the middle of June. Please pray for all that has to be done to pack up, get the house ready to sell, and leave our Impacto Bíblico church family.

CROSSROAD MISSIONS TEAM

We enjoyed our time with the CrossRoad Baptist missions team in March! They helped with the new building, the Cristo Rey group, a soccer outreach and shared their testimonies and the Word of God.

BUILDING UPDATE

We rejoice to announce that the gifts given in honor of my father-in-law, Harold Davis, added up to $11,910! The donations pledged for this month should bring this project to completion! Thanks for praying and blessing the Impacto Bíblico Baptist Church.

CHURCH PLANTING TEAM IN TABIO

I was blessed to preach Sunday in Tabio, the town next to Tenjo. Pastor Nelson and Pastor Daniel, both from the seminary, are leading this church plant. We haven’t decided in which church to serve when we arrive, but this is one option we are considering. Please pray!

TENJO

Tenjo is a small town of about 26,000. Many of its residents work in agriculture (flowers, dairy farming, etc.), but it has also become a bedroom community for Bogotá, since it is located only 45 minutes away from the capital. The temperature is usually between 45-66° F.

Thanks for your prayers and continued support of what God is doing in Colombia!

Blessings,
Jonathan, Holly, Marcos and Jason
