Dear Faithful Friends and Prayer Warriors,

We come to you today with hearts full of gratitude and with a call to prayer.

As many of you may have heard, on March 28, 2025, a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck the Sagaing Region of Myanmar, near Mandalay—the country’s second-largest city. This was the most powerful earthquake to hit Myanmar since 1912, bringing widespread destruction and claiming the lives of thousands. Many more have been injured or are missing. The impact reached as far as Thailand and China, and in Myanmar, ongoing civil unrest has made relief efforts even more difficult.

Amidst the tragedy, we want to share a miraculous and hopeful update:

All five of our ministry locations in Myanmar, including the children, families, and houseparents of which we serve alongside, are safe and accounted for! Our homes are located 400 miles from the epicenter, helping to keep our families safe!

We share their great concern for their neighbors and families. Our partner “T” sent us this heartbreaking account:

“According to the latest reports, over 4,000 people have died, more than 4,000 have been seriously injured, and around 3,000 are missing. The true extent of the disaster is still unknown, as many more people have yet to be found.

Despite this horrific natural disaster, military jets bombed seven towns today, making life even more unbearable for civilians—it feels like hell on earth.

By God’s grace, our missionaries and church families are safe so far. However, many of our brethren are suffering.

The people of Myanmar continue to endure darkness upon darkness. As children of God, our only hope is in the Almighty.

Thank you for your love and concern.”

“T”

His hand of protection has covered our BCH family in Myanmar, and we are so thankful. We give God all the glory for shielding these precious lives during such a devastating time.

Our Myanmar partners are deeply mission-minded—committed to loving their neighbors and their nation. Though they are surrounded by heartache and destruction, we know they will respond with Christ-like compassion and mercy. We know they are already planning to serve others, even as they process the trauma and challenges around them. We will be watching and praying with them for opportunities to help them in their mission of love.

We ask that you would stand in prayer with us:

We praise God for His protection over our homes, houseparents, and children.

We pray for continued safety, provision, and clear guidance as our teams serve and support others in the aftermath.

We intercede for the people of Myanmar as they grieve, search for the missing, and begin the hard work of rebuilding.

We ask God to open doors for His love and Gospel to shine during this trial.

We thank God for each of you. Your prayers and support make an eternal difference.

Let us be the hands and feet of Jesus—right now, when the need is great.

With gratitude and hope,
