GOD AT WORK IN COLOMBIA
“But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” (Ps. 86:15 ESV). |

We just finished our ABWE Team Colombia retreat in La Mesa, Colombia, a balmy town about two hours down the mountain. We sang about our great God, studied biblical peacemaking and heard reports of what he is doing in other parts of the country. Our teammates, Tim and Sharon Wheeler, are close to retirement; we thank God for their faithfulness. While they are leaving the field soon, Robert Blazer just arrived two months ago. He will be serving with us in the seminary ministry. |

We heard reports of how the ministry is growing in Medellin and on the Amazon. Our coworker, Jonatan Nieto, has been able to travel by plane and boat to train several groups of pastors deep in the Colombian jungle. Jonatan also just finished teaching his first course at the seminary on missions; we are thrilled to see our students challenged to go to whatever region he calls them to, even to the heart of the jungle.

God has answered a number of requests you have prayed for:
l The eschatology course I taught went well. Students said that they learned a lot and were challenged by seeing the glory of Christ more clearly.
l Our house has sold; I travel to Santa Marta tomorrow evening to sign papers on Monday.
l Diego has come to church seven weeks in a row. Pray that he would publicly confess Christ.
l God kept us safe as we traveled to Cali for the seminary missions trip in January. We were able to encourage the church planters there (our long-time friends Ricardo and Adriana and Ricardo’s sister Maria Eugenia), and our students received an expanded vision for church planting in Colombia. |

Seminary Missions Trip in Cali |

I was invited to preach at three churches in the last three weeks. At the first church we saw two of my former students, who are serving as pastor and wife, and one of my current students was baptized. The second week I preached at Roca Eterna, the church plant where we are serving, and the third week I taught on a topic that the pastor wanted his congregation to hear. These opportunities remind us of how God continues to work in and through the churches. Tomorrow we will celebrate the first anniversary of Roca Eterna! |

In God’s providence, I ran into Nicolas, a 28-year-old who works at a bookstore in Tabio. He invited me to their book club, and I attended four times. I will need to take a break because of travels, but I have begun to share about God with Nicolas. He studied philosophy at the university, so I invited him to read Ecclesiastes. Pray for God to work in his life! |

Eliana is currently doing her student teaching at Clear Lake Classical School. We look forward to traveling to the U. S. from April 26 to May 11 for her graduation from Faith Baptist Bible College. She will return with us to Colombia for a month afterwards. |
