To Our Prayer Partners,
Â
Many of you have told us that you pray for every person we write about in our Prayer Letters! Ok, then, we’ll continue to narrate some of the meaningful conversations that we’ve had, beginning w/ our literature tables:
Â
Several months ago, we asked you to pray for ALEC, who recognized me from basketball & stopped to talk. He told us that he briefly attended Liberty U, but he doesn’t believe in “Southern Baptist interpretation.†Well, Alec recently stopped again, & he asked what he could take w/ him. I gave him a [Jesus is the] “Bridge†tract.   Later, EMAiA stopped & said that she’s an agnostic. So I told her that the Bible says that God clearly reveals Himself via “the things that have been made†(Rom. 1:20) (people, animals, plants & the cosmos); so we’re “without excuse†for not knowing that God exists.   As we were talking, GiA stopped & asked if each person could define God in his own way. I replied, “Well, it would be infinitely better to let God tell us who He is, which is what He did in the Bible.â€
Â
Later, MUHAMMAD (from Saudi Arabia) stopped by. Providentially, we were displaying the q, “Are all religions the same?†After telling Muhammad that I’ve read the Koran twice, I said that the Koran says that God doesn’t have a Son; & he concurred. I then showed him John 3:16 (which we always display on our table). Muhammad took a pic of John 3:16 & politely walked away.
Â
MARCOS asked a myriad of questions, for ex., “How would you confirm that the Bible is God’s Word?†[Phenomenal Prophecies; Literary Artistry; Qualitative Answers (to life’s sine qua non questions); Unique Teachings; Everyday Practicality; Unified Theme; Changed Lives.] In time, he told me that he’s Zoroastrian & strives to do good deeds for his fellow man. I then asked him how he would confirm that the god & writings of Zoroastrianism are true, but he didn’t know.   Later, XAViOR, who is Navajo, stopped by & said that he didn’t believe in good or evil. I showed him our [Jesus is the] “Bridge†tract, & he took it w/ him.
Â
Later, a Middle Eastern-looking, middle-aged lady stopped. She didn’t want to tell me where she’s from, but she was willing to say that she used to head up an evangelical ministry in the Middle East. I asked her if she’s still evangelical, & she replied, “I’m not sure.†She took a pic of our Church flier….
Â
Later, a student (from India) quietly argued that the design of our brains doesn’t necessarily argue that God exists, b/c brain neurons can regenerate. So I kindly argued, “Only God could create neurons that can regenerate.†A minute later, I asked him if he was Hindu, & he replied, “Yes.†So I contrasted reincarnation & resurrection: “B/c my mom believed in Jesus, & I believe in Jesus, I’ll get to see my mom again!â€
Â
Later, TAREQ (from Saudi Arabia) stopped by (again) & sat down. He read verses from the internet that, he argued, teach that Jesus isn’t God (when they, in fact, teach Jesus’ submission). In time, I showed him Isa. 9:6 & John 1:1 that argue for Jesus’ deity. Tareq also argued (typically): “The Bible became corrupt†… “God doesn’t have a son†… & “Jesus didn’t die on the cross.†(Tareq was as kind as AMED, who is also from Saudi Arabia, who visited our church a few years ago along w/ his sister, IPTAHOL.)
Â
Over the last couple years, (unsaved) HANON (from China) has sat w/ us, many times, at our lit table primarily to improve his English. Recently, Hanon sincerely postulated: 1) “Maybe everyone should determine right or wrong for himself.†2) “Someday, science may be the true religion.†I replied: 1) “Ok, then, I’ll steal your bike.†2) “Science can’t love us, whereas Jesus loved us so much that he died on the cross for our sins.â€
Â
Later, RiCK, who works at CU, recognized me from senior basketball. As we were talking, he picked up the spike on our table, & I asked him: “Do you know why we have that at our table?†He replied, “No.†I then replied, “B/c it reminds us of when Jesus died on the cross for our sins.â€
Â
Later, a student asked a q, from a religion class, about Christianity & Buddhism. I replied, “Jesus created me, loves me, died on the cross for my sins & rose again; whereas Buddha didn’t create me, doesn’t love me, didn’t die on the cross, etc.†I then asked him if he’s religious, & he replied, “I’m Jewish.†So I challenged him: “Your Hebrew Bible says that the Messiah’s hands & feet would be pierced†(Ps. 22), “&, you know, Jesus’ hands & feet were pierced.†He replied, “That’s too radical for me.†I then replied, “But your Hebrew Bible, written by Jews, says that!â€
Â
A Physics student, SETH, told me that he’s a pantheist (everything is god) & that his girlfriend is a Jehovah’s Witness, etc. Providentially, while I was talking to Seth, JAMES walked up & asked many, unbelievably pristine questions such as, “What? Doing good things doesn’t help us get to heaven?†My answers easily included the Gospel several times. After James left, Seth initiated the topic of “suicide,†& he maintained that some people who are considering suicide may be beyond help. I replied, “I never want to underestimate what God can do in a person’s life.†I then rehearsed what a friend from high school recently emailed me – how he had taken 100 sleeping pills … survived &, (not long after), my dad led him to Christ; & he has lived an abundant life for several decades.
Â
Later, I gave a [Jesus is the] “Bridge†tract to SOL. He then told me that he’s a believer, but that God had dealt him a bad hand, & he’s no longer going to church. So I invited him to our church.
Â
(Unsaved) BENNETT asked a litany of questions. Later, 3 students asked about the q we were displaying, “Is Jesus the only way to God?†B/c they didn’t believe that Jesus is the only way, I read 3 verses about exclusivity to them, & they listened attentively
Â
The next day, JACK was “tabling†for cannabis, (providentially), beside our table. Jack initiated a conversation by asking me, “What do you think about God-created cannabis?†After telling him that cannabis helps a relative, but that it also has many downsides, I explained our [Jesus is the] “Bridge†tract, & Jack was receptive.   Later, JUSTiN (a Christian) said “hi†to us at our table. I asked him if he was reading the Bible every day, & he admitted, “No.†So I asked him if he would commit to reading a chapter in the book of Mark every day, & be accountable to me, & he replied, “Yes!â€
Â
Later, I ate at a CU Dining Center, & JOHN told me that he had a degree in philosophy & proceeded to ask me what I thot of Des Cartes. I replied, “I’m sure that Des Cartes said a lot of good things, but I know that everything that God said in His Word is absolutely true.â€
Â
The next day, I talked to SANTANU, who visited our church, along w/ his wife, PAULAMi. (They’re Hindus from India.) B/c Santanu is working on a 2nd postdoc degree at NOAA, (where President Trump is cutting jobs), I asked him if his job was in jeopardy. & he said that it’s tenuous.
Â
At senior basketball, God continues to give me opportunities to talk to RALPH who is Jewish. A couple weeks ago, I told him that I was scheduled to speak at a church on the upcoming Sunday. Surprisingly, Ralph asked me to email him my text!
Â
The names of the students who have attended Nancy’s Bible study this semester include:

Â
This past Monday, LUCY was, providentially, the first person to come to Nancy’s Bible study, which gave Nancy the opportunity to answer many of her questions. B/c Lucy believes that there are many ways to get into heaven, Nancy asked her, “Then why did Jesus have to suffer & die for our sins?†(Gal. 2:21). Lucy had no answer.Â
Â
Recently, LEXi told Nancy that she & her husband, SHiHU (from China), still want to get together w/ us again, to ask questions, but, so far, her husband has been crazy busy at work.
Â
This Sunday, CAROLE (from China) is planning to visit our church!

Tom & Nancy Miller (U of Colorado / Campus Bible Fellowship / Baptist Mid-Missions)
P.S. Today at our lit table, we’re displaying the q, “Does Elon need Jesus?†… “Do YOU need Jesus?†Think we need prayer?
