2 Timothy 3:10 Now you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, perseverance, 11persecutions, andsufferings, such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord rescued me! 12 Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. (NASB)

At lunch today, a Christian friend of mine remarked that what we do, traveling the world for the Gospel’s sake, is exceptional. I remarked that my feeling is that it is the minimum we can do. The Apostle Paul agrees with me.

I received an email from a friend asking whether the Middle East conflict would delay the trip to Kurdistan.

I don’t think so. Julius, my ministry partner in Kurdistan, contacted me earlier today to ask me to take on additional duties while I am in Kurdistan. Evidently, he is confident the airways will open. If delayed, the trip will be rescheduled.

The Lord willing, I will leave for Sulaymaniyah on March 17 and return on April 2. I will teach, speak in the church, and attend the graduation of students in the Evangelism, Church Planting, and Mission program. Oh, and much time will be spent in the coffee shop cultivating evangelistic relationships. I also aim to recruit new students for the program I am privileged to teach.

The goal is a church-planting movement in the countries surrounding Kurdistan/Iraq. I recommend looking at a map, reflecting on what I just said, and praying with me.

While attending the Global Training Network annual conference, I made a connection with a security professional who will help me stay safe while traveling. I don’t think it is very dangerous, but…. Please remember to pray.

Airline tickets, board and lodging, travel insurance, and miscellaneous expenses will cost about $15,000.00. Approximately $2,000 has been contributed toward the trip.

Paul confirms to the church at Philippi that what was important to him was not just their gift for the ministry, but also the profit it would add to their account (Phil 4:17). Paul knew God would provide for the ministry’s needs, so he desired to welcome others to join him in building our Savior’s global church. That is my desire as well: the camaraderie of a team effort to do Great Commission work. I crave this.
