DECEMBER 21, 2022

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

(John 1:14 ESV).

December is probably the hardest month for us as missionaries. Nostalgia mixes with the general locura (craziness) of the season here in Santa Marta (traffic, noise, a feverish pace to get from point A to B no matter the consequences, etc.). But it’s also the best time of year to remember that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We are thankful for the coming of the Savior and that he has promised to return! Meanwhile, we’re seeking to serve him faithfully.

Thank you for your prayers for the youth camp our church held. Twenty-five teens heard the gospel clearly preached, and we continue to see positive results from their time together. I’m very thankful for Alfredo’s leadership for planning events like this one.

FURLOUGH PLANS

Lord-willing we are planning on being in the U. S. from June 2023 through January 2024 for our furlough. We look forward to catching up with many of you and having the opportunity to meet new people in our supporting churches.

SEMINARY NEWS

We continue to work on the accreditation process with the Colombia Baptist Seminary. The online program will now be the same intensity as the on-campus program, so I will be teaching regularly throughout the year from Santa Marta and the U. S.

We are also planning on doing our Alpha and Omega institute program online so that we can reach more students on the Colombian coast. I talked to representatives from another Bible institute here in Colombia, and they’ve had over 1,800 online students in their program since they started six years ago! The potential is great, so pray for wisdom to move ahead with this new format!
