FAMILY NEWS
June 8, 2022

We are pleased to announce that Lucas got married last Saturday to Clarissa Hoffman in Ames, Iowa. We have enjoyed being in the U. S. to spend time with family and with 1st Baptist of Hibbing and our sending church in Ames, CrossRoad Baptist.

Lucas and Clarissa will live in Ames while they finish their studies at Iowa State. Thanks for your prayers for our children over the years; we thank God for his faithfulness in their lives.
Eliana just finished her first year at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, so we are also thankful for the way God has led in her life. We enjoyed spending an evening with her small group from Anchor Baptist of Des Moines.

TEACHING

I enjoyed two weeks in Tenjo at the Colombia Baptist Seminary, where I taught the course “Spanish Grammar & Research Methods.” The seminary is in the process of seeking accreditation, so I’m praying about how I can assist them in this process.

Teaching the Men in Trompito Alto
I also made my first trip up to the kogui people in Trompito Alto. It was a short trip but gave me a better idea about how we can assist them in growing as a church, in their theological understanding and in the training of their leaders. Alfredo and I will meet with their leaders next week (June 17th) to teach on expository preaching.

Please pray for our return to Colombia this week and for wisdom to know how to invest our time in the best way. We’ve been encouraged by our time in the U. S., so pray that we could return strengthened in our faith and desire to continue to share the gospel and contribute towards the growth of church planting and missions in Colombia.

Kids’ Corner

We were pleased to hear and see how Eliana has connected with Anchor Baptist Church of Des Moines. She spent several months thinking about where she would attend, so we are thankful that she’s feeling more and more at home at Anchor.

CULTURAL PHOTO

The final round of the presidential elections in Colombia will be held on June 19th. Gustavo Petra and Rodolfo Hernández are the candidates. We’re praying the results won’t lead to political instability in the country.
