TO GOD BE THE GLORY, GREAT THINGS HE HATH DONE!
Some of you have sent us memorial gifts in honor of loved ones that have gone on to glory. We thank each one for those memorial gifts, which we have been saving for the large camp chapel. Because of another large donation, the total funds were available to start the construction in June. Our goal is to have the chapel ready for our next camp season that begins the end of December. This past camp season there were two retreats that had too many campers to fit into our small chapel, that seats a maximum of 150.
We took some time off from the ministries in Peru to go to the States for two granddaughter weddings. Jessica (our son, Jeffrey’s daughter) and her husband graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College on May 6 and were married on May 28. She honored her mother, who had passed on to heaven less than a year earlier, by using some of her favorite songs. Liliana, (our son, Stephen Daniel’s oldest daughter) was married on June 12, to a nice young man from her church in Indiana.
Then we were able to attend the BMM Annual Family Conference in July with some great preaching and fellowship. We returned to Trujillo, Peru, on Wednesday, July 25.
Next week we will be out at camp for our youth winter retreat, that is held during the Peru Independence Day celebrations. Then the second semester of classes at the Bible College begins, August 5. Both of us will be teaching.
Although several BMM Peruvian missionaries are retiring, we praise God for answering your prayers to send more laborers into the harvest field of Peru. Two new couples were just accepted to serve God in Peru and have just finished candidate seminar classes. The Andy and Christy Streit family and the Benjamin and Jennifer Stilwell family will be raising support to minister here in Trujillo, Peru. Please join us in praying that God would provide for them to be on the field soon.
