Meet Nu San Mai

At just eleven years old, Nu San Mai’s joy shows in her life. She is in fourth grade and loves learning—especially math! Her teachers describe her as a bright student with a gentle heart love for Jesus.

Every morning and evening, Nu San Mai begins and ends her day in prayer. She loves reading God’s Word and singing praise songs. Her dream is to become a Sunday school teacher so she can help other children learn about Jesus too.

At the Agape Home, she is surrounded by friends and caring house parents, she’s growing in both faith and knowledge—preparing for the future God has planned for her.

Please continue to lift in prayer the nearly 400 children, like Nu San Mai, along with their families and caregivers, who are part of our BCH family around the world—asking God to bless them with protection, provision, and the steadfast hope found in Christ.

An Update from our Families in Haiti and the Dominican Republic
Praise God — we’ve received word from our partners in Haiti and the Dominican Republic that all of the children and families in our care are safe. But the devastation around them is heartbreaking. Homes, churches, and schools have been swept away by Hurricane Melissa, leaving thousands without food or shelter.

In Haiti alone, more than 1,000 lives were lost, and in the Dominican Republic, over 20. The storm has compounded the suffering of families already living in hardship.

Immediate Response: BCH has sent funds from our Emergency Food Relief Fund to provide rice, peas, and oil, to families in desperate need.

But the need doesn’t end there — and you can help us reach even more.

BCH’s Food Shower Fills the Gap

Around the world and here at home, families are facing severe food shortages and growing concern about their future food security. We know that across our nation, The Church will be prayerfully stepping in to help hurting families fill the gap.

BCH will respond where God opens the door—helping families put food on the table and hope in their hearts. In God’s perfect timing, as food pantry appeals rise across the country, we know that He knows every need before we do.

Through our ongoing Food Shower, BCH can provide groceries for local families, supply meals in the countries we serve, and prepare us to respond quickly when new needs arise.

The Liberia school is rising –
brick by brick and promise by promise!
The roof is now complete, and the community is working inside to plaster the walls and has begun building tables, desks, and benches so children can soon learn in their new classrooms. In the most recent photo, a rainbow shines over the school—a beautiful reminder that God keeps His promises! As the work continues, you can be part of what God is doing in Liberia— building hope for children and families, through your prayers and your gifts.

Meet Dawendson

Dawendson a bright and hopeful 5th grader living in one of our foster homes in the Dominican Republic. His family immigrated there seeking safety, but life has been difficult—without legal recognition, steady work and opportunities are hard to find. Yet through God’s provision through BCH’s prayer warriors and givers, Dawendson can attend school, enjoy his favorite pizza nights, and ride his bicycle freely. He dreams of becoming a teacher—and maybe even a pastor! Your prayers and gifts make this possible. When you give, you become the hero of Dawendson’s story—standing in the gap, offering hope, and reminding him that God’s love always makes a way.

Reaching Our Community—One Conversation (and Candy Bag!) at a Time
This month, BCH was out in full force sharing the message of Hope Changes Everything! At Valparaiso Baptist Church’s Trunk-or-Treat, our team handed out candy and an incredible 910 Gospel tracts to children and families—planting seeds of faith and reminding young hearts that they are loved by God. Just days later, we put on our superhero capes for the Valparaiso Chamber Network Night, joining over 120 business leaders and 1,000 visitors for an evening of connection and outreach. Our booth theme—“Be a Hero in a Child’s Life”—invited guests to discover how they can support vulnerable children and families right here in Northwest Indiana and around the world. Whether through prayer, volunteering, or giving, every connection is another opportunity to bring Christ’s hope to those who need it most. Together, we can all be heroes in a child’s life!
