February 2026
Dear Praying Friends,
The beginning of the semester was concerning: B/c the CU Student Union is closed b/c of
construction, we went to the Engineering building & asked if we could set up a literature table. Soon
after we set up, a professor walked up & asked brusquely, “Who gave you the right to set up a
Table?” I replied, “The office.” So the prof marched to the office. [Fast forward a week] the prof
walked up to our Table & barked: “You don’t have the right to set up a religious Table b/c of
Separation of Church & State.” Providentially, I was talking to ANTHONY, (an engineering student), &
he stood up for me like an older brother. Specifically, he encouraged the prof to google: “Can a
religious org set up a Table @ a public U?” And A.I. replied, “Yes!” So the prof backed down. Since
those pejorative encounters, PROF CHRIS SENSENY has stopped & talked “civilly” [he teaches Civil
Engineering] to us a couple times. “Thank you God;” and thank you for praying for us!
Some calmer conversations at our Table include:
KRiSTiNE (a freshman in Aerospace) told us that she’s an atheist. So we told her several arguments
for the existence of God, & she was very receptive.
MAGAN told us that she was raised Catholic, but she’s now agnostic. As she was walking away, she
told us that she wants to talk again! Later, RiVER & PHOEBE stopped & talked. River is an agnostic;
Phoebe is an atheist. Of course, I gave them arguments for the existence of God, & they listened
attentively. As they were leaving, they thanked me, & I gave them 1 of our [Jesus is the] “Bridge”
tracts. A minute later, they talked to a couple friends, & the friend asked River: “What’s in your hand?”
River then showed her our “Bridge” tract, & I overheard them talking about it! Later, GRACE (a
Methodist) & TALiA asked a plethora of questions. Please pray for their salvation!
SOPHiA has been, by far, the feistiest student, as she argued for unnatural, roll-your-own, subjective
morality. But we managed to talk, some, about objective morality – & Jesus.
In Missouri, BROCK attends a Methodist church, which preaches the progressive, social gospel.
Providentially, 1 of our students was sitting w/ me, & he & Brock know each other. We encouraged
Brock to visit our church, & he said that he might. Later, TYE asked what I thought about the mayhem
in Minneapolis. After a few sentences in, I replied: “We all desperately need Jesus.” As our
conversation evolved to “moral relativism,” Tye was quick to reply, “Oh I have morals.”
COLiN read, out loud, the question we were displaying: “Is your brain evidence for the existence of
God?” In time, I explained our [Jesus is the] “Bridge” tract, & he seemed to understand it some. We
invited him to our Bible study & Church, & he took a pic of our flier. TARAQ, (a Muslim from Saudi
Arabia), has sat down & kindly dialogued several times. I’ve asked him: “Did the millions of people
who lived before the Koran was written (in A.D. 600) have an authoritative, reliable Holy Book?” And
I’ve shared the Gospel w/ him several times.
ABANEZAR read the question we were displaying & asked what our answer was. He also asked
what the name of our church is, & he said that he may show up!
MOYA is a growing Christian. She’s a freshman, she loves biology, & she’s looking for a church. So
we invited her to visit our church. CHERYL works @ CU & has attended First Congregational Church
in Boulder which is very liberal. She asked about the Trinity, & she liked what we showed her:
Last week, OWEN (an atheist) talked to us for a long time about the problem of evil, Biblical
prophecies, etc. Later, NiCHOLAS (who was raised Russian Orthodox) & JORGE (who is a
knowledgeable Catholic) talked to us at the same time. I talked about how, although both Orthodoxy
& Catholicism claim that they believe in the authority of Scripture, their wrong interpretations illustrate
that Scripture isn’t truly their authority. (For example, their outlandish, literal interpretation of Jesus’
words, “unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you” (John
6:53). (Jesus’ word, “life,” alone, should be interpreted spiritually, not literally.) Later, COOPER &
ARABEL (who aren’t religious) asked us many astute questions. We showed them John 3:16, & we
explained our [Jesus is the] “Bridge” tract; and they were very receptive.
On Fridays, I was having a Bible study w/ FiNLEY (who was saved in August), & Finley invited
BENTLEY who is also a freshman – & majoring in Aerospace. Last week, RiCHARD (from China)
joined our study. On Sundays, we give Finley, Bentley & CHUAN (from Singapore) a ride to our
church (which we love)! Hoping to bring more students, we’re in the process of buying a van from our
daughter, who is planning to buy a newer van for her twins who are due in a few weeks.
(Speaking of Chelsea), Chelsea has organized a (Charlie Kirk) Turning Point USA club at the public
high school where she teaches orchestra (for another month). And I’m scheduled to speak at the club
on Feb. 19th. Chelsea told me there will be Catholics & Mormons, etc.
This semester, Nancy has been teaching English to: TUBA (Afghanistan), JULiANNA (Brazil),
LiYiNG & XiA (China), TiTi (Colombia), ALHANOF (Egypt), REA & NATSUKi (Japan), SUE (Korea),
NATZiRA (Syria), JOANNA (Nicaragua), GALENA (Russia) & TiNA (Taiwan). Please pray that God
will work in the lives of these students, as, next week, Nancy will be talking about “Sin &
Repentance;” in March: “Why We Celebrate Easter.”
“I must preach the good news … for I was sent for this purpose” (Luke 4:43),
