As promised, this is the third letter regarding a ministry proposal for a wonderful opportunity to join our Savior in building His church in Iran.
Our ministry partner in Kurdistan wrote the proposal on behalf of Hope Bible Institute and Iberoamerican Ministries, both located in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan, which is about an hour and a half from the Iranian border. The proposal is addressed to Deb and me, to InterGlo Ministries, and to those who are our prayer and financial supporters. I think it is best for those interested to review the full proposal on our website, but I will give a synopsis here.
We have been asked to travel to Sulaymaniyah four times, beginning in September of this year and continuing through 2027, to mentor 15 Iranian church leaders in spiritual development, evangelism, church planting, and mission. Basically, the goal will be to come alongside and help these precious servants of the Lord serve the church in Iran effectively. Theological, missional, and pastoral training is a critical need in the rapidly growing church in Iran.
It will be our responsibility to fund the full program, including expenses for the Iranian leaders, teaching materials, translation of the required textbooks, and my travel expenses. The proposal, available on the website, includes a budget breakdown. The cost to train 15 Iranian leaders will be approximately $110,000.00, or $7,333.00 per leader. I wonder how God will use these mentored leaders in a land hostile to the gospel.
InterGlo Ministries has $30,000.00 available, so $80,000.00 is still needed. Perhaps God will use the lifetime of ministry experience and the theological and missiological training He has provided to bless Iranian believers. I lift my arms in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord for the stewardship He has granted us. I say us because as you give and I go, we are partners in the gospel. Together, we will invest in the lives of Christian leaders in Iran and help build the body of Christ there. Will you join us?
