To Our Prayer Force,

Â

A few weeks ago, our pastor preached: “Prayer that is warfare is combined of the two ingredients of desperation & confidence. Desperation for God to do what only God can do & confidence that he will do it in the best way & at the best time.”

Â

Nancy is continuing to build friendships with her former ESL (English as a Second Language) students from Afghanistan, China, Colombia, Chile, Taiwan, Korea & Japan. Specifically, Nancy loves “tea times” with them each week. Nancy’s new ESL student is OLGA from Ukraine.

Â

Nancy is also continuing to teach the Bible to Koreans: MIJI & her 2 kids, KYUNGA & her 2 kids & JUN. Jun has been remembering some of the Bible stories that Nancy taught him & his sister, KATE, from 5 years ago when Nancy had a private Children’s Church class for them when they lived in the U.S. Both Jun & Kate made professions of faith at that time. After Nancy teaches the Bible to Jun (via Zoom as he’s in Korea), Jun tells his (unsaved) family what he learned.

Â

Nancy is also continuing to teach the Bible to YING (from China) & her 2 sons. And they have recently begun attending church with us! Ying was saved a year & a half ago, & she’s burdened for her husband, LEON, to come to know the Lord.

Â

Last week, CHRiSTiNA saw the question we were providentially displaying at our literature table: “Are all religions the same?” She told us that, when she saw that one of the pics on our flier was Buddha, she stopped, because she’s Buddhist. I emphasized the other pic: Jesus dying on the cross. And I talked about how Jesus died for my sins, rose again & will raise me from the dead. Christina sincerely replied, “I didn’t know that Jesus claimed that He would raise people from the dead.”

Â

Also, last week, a Jewish student, SHOLOMON (as in Solomon / “shalom” / peace) talked to me at our lit table. (After he spoke), I asked my fav question for Jewish people: “Are you aware that the Hebrew Bible says, in 3 different places, that the Messiah would be ‘pierced?’” He replied, “But it’s so difficult to know if the Bible should be interpreted literally or metaphorically.” I replied, “I believe that the Consummate Communicator has given us an intuition to interpret His Word the way that He intended us to interpret His Word. For example, when God commanded Adam & Eve to not eat the fruit, they knew exactly what He meant…”.

Â

On Thursdays, JOSH sits with me at my lit table, & he hears me dialogue with students including some of Josh’s classmates who are surprised to see him sitting with me. A couple weeks ago, one of them asked Josh if he was a Christian, & he replied: “I’m getting there.’ On Fridays, we play basketball at the CU Rec Center – with (unsaved) CAM. (In the pic, Josh is on the left; Cam is on the right.) After that, Josh helps Nancy & me teach English, &, after that, he participates in our Bible studies. Additional unsaved students who attend include: ANDRES & JACKiE (from Colombia) and MiJA & ZHUBiN (from China).Â

Â

We’re inviting the aforementioned students to visit our church this Sunday, as I’m scheduled to preach on the topic: “How Would YOU Answer a Person’s Question – And – Make a Beeline to Jesus?” Jair (from Mexico) & his wife, FABiANA (from Chile), told us that they’re planning to come!

Enjoying the Journey,
