Dear Praying Friends,
Many of you have asked about some of the gospel contacts we have asked for you to pray for. Here is an update:
“D” is a gentleman who has been faithfully attending church for over a year now after his mother could no longer read her Bible due to dementia. God used him reading her Bible to wake him up to seek God. I have been doing a Bible Study with him and he knows and understands the gospel but cannot let go of his old life and allow God to be Lord. Thus he concluded last Wednesday, “I am not actually repenting and I am not following Christ.” He is so close. Please pray for him to be saved.
“M” comes to church as often as work permits him too. Last week he again said, the Gospel makes so much sense and he wishes his Father would have understood that before he passed away last week. When I ask him, what is keeping him from salvation he will say, the resurrection. He cannot believe the resurrection to be true. Please pray for him to be saved, and to accept Christ raised from the dead.
“K” has been distant but friendly. His son wants to be baptized and I hope to talk to him through the upcoming baptism service. Please pray for K to be saved through his sons obedience to the Lord.
“P” started attending church 3 weeks ago. I am uncertain where he stands when it comes to matters of faith. He is very knowledgeable in biblical topics but does not talk about personal faith. Please pray for an open heart and if he is not saved, to be saved.
New neighbors moved into the house next to ours. Please pray for us to connect with them and build gospel-centered relationships with them.
Last week I started meeting regularly with a couple from church and helping them navigate conflict. It was exciting to hear from them today at church of the progress they have made recognizing the conflict and knowing how to move forward.
Another couple got the counseling book last week and are excited to work their way through those and to discuss what they are learning in regular meetings. Please pray for these meetings to be fruitful and opportunities for grace.
Regular church ministries continue as well as teaching in the institute – which remains a huge encouragement. At the end of this week I will be at a conference for church planting with Tim Potter as the speaker. I am looking forward to the blessing this will be to my heart.
My short visit to the USA (October 20-27) is planned and I am looking forward to connecting with 3 churches (First Baptist in Russel, IA; Calvary Baptist in Mt. Pleasant, IA; Ankeny Baptist Church in Ankeny, IA) and attending the missions conference at Faith Baptist Bible College. I also look forward to spending time with Natalie while at Faith. Please pray for safety and for an encouraging time.
Thank you for your prayers and your support. God is at work. He is still in the business of saving souls, please continue to pray for these individuals.
For His Glory,
Mark and Leslie Boyd
